DART LEAGUE HISTORY

The idea for electronic dart machines originated in the early 1970's by Rudy Allison, a Rockford, Illinois; businessman. A design team ran by the British Aerospace Corporation, under a grant from the British government started their own independent project. This team of university students and aircraft engineers named the program Project A.R.A.C.H.N.I.D.

In 1977, Mike Tillery and Paul Beall acquired Arachnid. By the mid 1980's the electronic dartboards were taking off, and in 1991, the Galaxy Game was developed. The Galaxy machines were a huge breakthrough in league management that allowed remote stats collection through the phone line.

James Vending began their Dart League in 1992. We have a spring and summer league and also have tournaments every other Friday. At the end of each season, there is a banquet with food, prizes, trophies and a tournament. Anyone interested in joining a team or starting a team can call James Vending at 724-438-6420. The James Vending Dart League is a league of equally matched teams. Whether you're an "A" player of "F" player, the James Vending Dart League is a good time had by all.

The James Vending Dart League currently has 14 bar locations with 33 teams. League play is every Tuesday starting at 7:00. Check out our schedule and stop by to join in the fun.
